Erica Soto Gerena is an Associate Attorney at A. Traub & Associates, where she focuses her practice on family law with a particular emphasis on parentage and child support matters. Known for her compassionate approach and strong advocacy, Erica is dedicated to guiding families through some of life's most challenging transitions with clarity and care. She is also fluent in Spanish, allowing her to serve a broader range of clients throughout the community.
Erica earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2022 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar that same year. While in law school, she interned at the Chicago-Kent Family Law Clinic, where she assisted clients in a variety of family law matters. She also worked as a law clerk at a real estate law firm, gaining experience in landlord-tenant disputes, small business claims, and contract negotiations. During her time at Chicago-Kent, Erica served as Treasurer of the Racial Equity Advocacy Alliance and earned a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Justice and Technology.
She graduated summa cum laude from Illinois State University with dual bachelor's degrees in Legal Studies and Political Science. While in undergrad, Erica interned at a small family law firm—an experience that solidified her passion for this area of practice. In 2025, Erica was recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, a distinction earned through peer nomination and professional achievement. She also serves as the President of the Board for DVSA Communities, a nonprofit organization helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault gain access to legal support in DuPage, Kane, and Cook Counties. Additionally, Erica is a member of the College of DuPage Legal Studies Advisory Committee, where she helps mentor and prepare the next generation of paralegals.
Outside of work, Erica enjoys reading mystery novels, attending live music shows, and spending time with her dog, Blondie.
